Questions

The things people actually ask us.

If your question is not here, that is a good reason to call. We would rather answer it than have you guess.

It means we are not tied to one big insurance company. We are a private, locally owned agency that works with several carriers, so we can quote your situation more than one way and tell you honestly which one fits. If your rates jump next year or you buy a new house, we shop it again instead of telling you there is nothing we can do.

No. You never write us a check for the work we do. We are paid by the insurance carrier when you choose a policy, and the price you pay is the same as it would be going direct. The difference is that you have someone local who answers your call.

Absolutely. Plenty of people start with us on one policy and move the rest over later — often because bundling saves them money. There is no pressure and no obligation. We will quote what you ask us to quote.

Call us. We report the claim with you, tell you what your policy covers and what your deductible is, help you gather what the carrier will ask for, and follow up until it is settled. You keep the same agent from the first phone call to the last one, and we do not hand you off to an 800 number.

About three months before your birthday month, or earlier if you have questions about working past 65. Your Medigap open enrollment window is a six-month period that starts the month you turn 65 and are enrolled in Part B, and it is generally the one time you can buy a supplement without health questions. It is worth planning for.

Please do. We are a real office you can walk into, sit down in, and ask questions across a desk — not a call center. We are at 1282 First Ave in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, and we are glad to see you. Bring your current policies, your declarations pages, or a list of your prescriptions if that is what we are working on, and we will look at it with you.

Yes — we are one of the few offices left around here that accepts cash payments at the counter. Bring it in, or call first if you want to know the exact amount before you come.

We write both, along with ATVs and side-by-sides. Boat coverage follows the boat onto the water, onto the trailer and into the driveway, and motorcycle policies are written for riders rather than adapted from a car policy. Bundled with your auto or home it is usually the cheapest way to do it.

General liability for the ordinary local kinds of business — contractors, landlords, a shop with a storefront, somebody working for themselves. Also commercial auto for the work truck, tools and equipment coverage, and the certificates of insurance a general contractor or a landlord needs you to hand over. Call us and describe the business; we will tell you what is actually required and what is optional.

Money you set aside that grows under a set of rules and then pays you back, sometimes for as long as you live. It is a legitimate tool for people who have finished saving and want to stop worrying about outliving their money — and it is also sold badly to people who do not need one. We will walk through what it earns, what it costs to get out, and how the payout compares with leaving the money where it is, then tell you honestly whether it fits.

We do, and it is usually the least expensive policy we sell. Your landlord covers the building; renters insurance covers everything you own inside it, plus the liability if someone is hurt in your home or you accidentally damage the landlord’s property. Bring your lease and a rough idea of what your things would cost to replace, and we can have a number for you the same day.

Still not sure? Just ask us.

No question is too basic, and nothing obligates you to buy anything. We are a local office — talking to people is the whole job.
